StreamingCommunity in 2026: current situation
StreamingCommunity is today one of the biggest illegal streaming platforms in Europe. Born in Italy, the site has also become firmly established in France, with a Netflix-like interface and a multilingual catalogue of films and series.
Watch out for the confusion: this article covers the pirate site StreamingCommunity (streamingcommunity.tax and its countless mirrors), not Community, the American NBC sitcom starring Joel McHale and Donald Glover, legally available on Netflix. If you were looking for the show, head to Netflix; if you were looking for the streaming site, here’s everything you need to know before going there.
What you need to know:
- StreamingCommunity is illegal: it distributes copyrighted films and series without rights holder authorisation
- No stable domain: the site’s address changes constantly (.tax, .taxi, .buzz, .cz, .paris…), sometimes through innocuous-looking domain names with no apparent link to streaming
- An app exists on the Play Store, but the real danger comes from clones spread through advertising, packed with banking malware
- Using it exposes you to sanctions: up to €5,000 in Italy (AGCOM, Guardia di Finanza), up to €300,000 and 3 years in prison in France (Hadopi/ARCOM)
- Legal alternatives cover most of the catalogue, for free or cheaply
This guide covers StreamingCommunity’s history, the blocks in Italy and France, the real risks (legal and malware, including the Android app), and the best legal alternatives.
StreamingCommunity is an Italian-origin pirate site heavily used in France too, not to be confused with the "Community" TV series; it changes domain constantly and using it stays illegal.
- In Italy, the Guardia di Finanza has already fined over 2,000 users (€154 to €5,000 depending on repeat offences).
- A "Streaming Community" app exists on the Play Store, but the real dangers come from clones spread through ads (banking trojans).
- If you go anyway, at least enable NordVPN Threat Protection (or Surfshark CleanWeb) plus an ad blocker.
What StreamingCommunity is
Born in Italy, StreamingCommunity has become the country’s biggest illegal streaming platform: a Netflix-like interface, no registration needed to start watching, and a Telegram channel reportedly nearing 500,000 members according to the Italian press. Several Italian sites claim, without official confirmation, a catalogue of over 35,000 multilingual films and series, a figure to treat with caution since it comes from promotional pages picked up by blogs, not a verified source.
The multilingual catalogue
- Recent films and series, often available just days after their release on legal platforms
- Multiple dubs and subtitles: Italian, English, sometimes French
- Files mostly ripped from paid platforms (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+…)
- Monetised through intrusive ads, redirects and sometimes crypto donations
Blocking: AGCOM in Italy, ARCOM in France
In Italy, StreamingCommunity is a priority target for AGCOM (the telecoms regulator) and the Guardia di Finanza. Rather than a simple DNS block, authorities sometimes redirect visitors to a “honeypot” site that logs the IP addresses of anyone trying to connect. According to the site’s own operators, quoted by the Italian press, StreamingCommunity reportedly changes domain every 24 to 48 hours. AGCOM plans to extend its Piracy Shield system, so far reserved for blocking live sports, to on-demand platforms like StreamingCommunity.
In France, no court ruling names StreamingCommunity specifically so far, but the site falls under the same general framework as French Stream or Papystreaming: ARCOM’s dynamic DNS blocking lets any mirror be added to ISP blocklists (Orange, Free, SFR, Bouygues) without going back to a judge, and watching copyrighted content remains an offence regardless of the site’s country of origin.
The Android app: watch out for fake clones
An app called “Streaming Community”, published by developer DevShifters, has been available on the Google Play Store since October 2024 (around 800,000 downloads). It presents itself as a “neutral” tool: a films and series guide with a “Link Host” feature that lets you point it at any external address you choose, without hosting any content itself. Nothing indicates it is operated by the pirate site’s administrators, and it isn’t currently flagged as malicious.
The real risk lies elsewhere: since 2026, advertising campaigns on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) have pushed fake free-streaming apps (“StrεαmTV Pro”, “Sistema”…) that install a banking trojan, StreamRat. Once installed, it hijacks Android’s accessibility service to read the screen, log keystrokes and overlay fake banking login screens. A recent campaign is reported to have reached nearly 570,000 Meta accounts in Europe alone, according to ThreatFabric researchers. Never download a “StreamingCommunity app” from an ad link or an APK outside the Play Store.

Why StreamingCommunity is dangerous today
Malware risks
StreamingCommunity’s mirrors are regularly analysed by security sandboxes (ANY.RUN), which have flagged several as “malicious activity” (streamingcommunity.cz, .paris, .buzz, .boston among others in recent months). The same techniques recur across pirate sites:
- Permanent pop-ups redirecting to illegal gambling sites
- Fake video players asking you to install a “codec” (actually malware)
- JavaScript cryptominers that slow down browsing
- Fake streaming apps (“StrεαmTV Pro”, “Sistema”) that install the StreamRat banking trojan
Such platforms regularly carry active malware.
Legal risks, in numbers
In Italy, a joint AGCOM, Guardia di Finanza protocol enables automatic sanctions:
- €154 fine from the first recorded infringement (reduced by a third if paid promptly)
- Up to €5,000 for repeat offenders, with possible criminal proceedings
- Over 2,000 users already fined according to the Italian press
- Identification in around 2 minutes according to the Guardia di Finanza, via IP address and the payment method used for any related IPTV subscriptions
In France, the Intellectual Property Code sanctions infringement regardless of which site was used:
- Up to €300,000 in fines for the most serious cases
- 3 years in prison for the most serious offences
- €1,500 under simplified Hadopi/ARCOM procedure
- €7,500 for using a blocked site
Legal alternatives to StreamingCommunity
Good news: most of StreamingCommunity’s multilingual catalogue can be found legally elsewhere, for free or cheaply.
For a multilingual international catalogue
- Netflix with ads (€7.99/mo): international catalogue, original/dubbed/subtitled, recent releases
- Prime Video (included with Amazon Prime): huge catalogue, films and series in several languages
- Disney+: Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, classic Disney
- Rakuten TV: pay-per-view, recent films
For free and legal content
- ARTE: free, European documentaries and series, subtitled and dubbed
- Pluto TV: hundreds of free channels and films, ad-supported
- France.tv: France Télévisions series and films, free replay
- Molotov TV: replays of all major French channels, free
If you were looking for the “Community” TV series (not the pirate site)
- Netflix: all 6 seasons, in full, with a subscription (including the ad-supported plan)
- Apple TV: individual season purchase
Pay-per-view
Canal VOD, Rakuten TV, Prime Video, Apple TV offer rentals of recent films (€3-5 per film): for occasional viewing, far cheaper than the legal and malware risk of a site like StreamingCommunity.
If you go on StreamingCommunity anyway
This isn’t our recommendation. But if you decide to go anyway:
1. A VPN with active anti-malware protection
NordVPN and its Threat Protection feature automatically block known malware domains, malicious ad pop-ups, cryptomining scripts and phishing redirects. With Surfshark, the CleanWeb feature does the same job.
2. An aggressive ad blocker
uBlock Origin with filters enabled (EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Fanboy’s Annoyance List) blocks most malicious pop-ups found on these mirrors.
3. A dedicated browser, never a third-party app
Never use the same browser as your banking, Google or social media accounts. And above all, never download any “StreamingCommunity app” offered through an ad or a third-party site: it’s the number one vector for today’s banking trojans (StreamRat and its variants).
4. No “codec” or “player” installs
Modern browsers play every standard video format. Any request to install a “codec” or extra “player” is always malware.
Going further
StreamingCommunity illustrates the new face of illegal streaming in 2026: a network born in Italy, now multilingual, chased by automated sanctions (AGCOM) rather than a simple DNS block, and used as bait to spread a banking trojan through fake apps. Legal streaming has plenty to replace its multilingual catalogue: free options such as Pluto TV, Tubi and ARTE, paid ones such as Crunchyroll, and national platforms cover most needs.
A VPN is still useful to:
- Travel while keeping your home subscriptions
- Access foreign catalogues legally (paid VPN account)
