NordVPN discount code: what you are really looking for
Type “NordVPN discount code” into Google and you get pages of “tested” codes, 80% off banners and countdown timers. The reality is simpler, and you can check it on the official site in two minutes: NordVPN runs a promotion that everyone can see, and its codes, when they exist, mostly serve to trigger that promotion. This guide records what nordvpn.com displayed on October 18, 2026, explains what the price becomes after the promotional period, and lists the traps that coupon pages leave out.
Short answer: on October 18, 2026, NordVPN’s official coupon page presented three offers (3 months, 20 months and 2 years), activated only when you subscribe from that page. The best deal is the 2-year plan. There is no secret code that pushes the price below what the site displays, and the renewal after the promotion costs more than three times the launch price.
The NordVPN "discount" is a promotion displayed on the official site: the code triggers it, it does not beat it. Prices checked on October 18, 2026.
- Basic 2-year plan: $3.49 a month (3 extra months), then $139.08 a year at renewal.
- The 30-day money-back guarantee on a first purchase is the real safety net, not a code.
- Beware of free codes, shared accounts and resold keys.
- Black Friday 2026: the NordVPN offer has been live since October 21, with no code to enter (see the dated section below).
Black Friday 2026: the NordVPN offer, phase by phase
Updated on October 22, 2026. During the Black Friday campaign, the discount applies from the deal page, with no code to enter. Here is the calendar NordVPN announced to its partners (communication of October 21, 2026), to be confirmed at each switch:
- Black Friday, October 21 to November 23, 2026. Up to 78% off with 3 extra months on the 2-year plan, from €3.49 a month. Noted on October 22, 2026 on NordVPN’s official page “The best Black Friday VPN deal of 2026”, which says “Deal ends December 9, 2026”. This is the phase under way.
- Exclusive week, November 24 to December 1, 2026. NordVPN announces the Basic 2-year plan at €2.99 a month, presented as the best price of the year. Announced, not yet live: we will confirm it on November 24.
- NordVPN Cyber Monday, December 2 to 9, 2026. Cyber Monday offer until December 9. No figure is announced so far for this phase, we invent none. The real Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30, during the exclusive week.
- From December 10, 2026, back to usual prices: this page then reverts to the logic of the sections that follow.
What about codes? We publish no code that is not attributed to our account, and the Black Friday promotion does not ask for one. The “NordVPN Black Friday codes” lists found elsewhere often copy expired codes: if a code changes nothing in the order summary, do not pay more. The campaign in detail (dates, other brands’ offers, how to compare) is in our guide VPN Black Friday 2026, and the December 2 phase in VPN Cyber Monday 2026. To see the offer: NordVPN, Black Friday deal. The NordPass password manager is also on promotion from October 21 to December 9, 2026 (from €1.39 a month on 2 years for the Individual plan): see our NordPass review.
Is there an official NordVPN discount code in 2026?
Yes, and NordVPN publishes them itself. Its page “Special October 2026 offer: the NordVPN coupon code” lists three offers: a 3-month plan, a 20-month plan and a 2-year plan, each tied to a campaign code. We do not copy these codes: they change with every campaign and only work from the official page. For the 2-year plan, the page shows $3.89 a month against a crossed-out $12.49, a “68% saving” on the Basic plan.

Three important points, all from that page:
- The codes only work from that page. NordVPN writes that the codes listed there can only be used there. A code copied from a coupon site may trigger nothing.
- The code is case-sensitive and only applies to the plan it is given for. NordVPN lists three reasons for failure: expired code, mistyped code, or a different plan.
- The button is the simplest route. Clicking “Get 2-year Plan” applies the code automatically and it appears in the order summary.
These codes change with campaigns: what you read here is a snapshot from October 18, 2026, not a promise for November. NordVPN’s page is the only source that counts.
Does a code add a discount on top of the promotion?
From what we could observe on the official site, no: the code triggers the offer shown next to it. The pricing page showed the same day a Basic 2-year plan at $3.49 a month with 3 extra months, while the coupon page advertised $3.89 a month for its 2-year plan. We could not establish the reason for the gap (exact term, extra months or different conditions): the order summary is what counts, and the sound reflex is to compare both totals before paying.
How much does NordVPN cost in October 2026?
Here are the prices shown on NordVPN’s US pricing page on October 18, 2026 (in dollars; sales tax may apply, according to NordVPN):
| Plan | 1 month | 1 year (price per month) | 2 years (price per month, + 3 extra months) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic (VPN) | $14.99 | $5.49 | $3.49 |
| Complete (VPN plus antivirus, password manager, 1 TB cloud) | $19.99 | $6.49 | $4.49 |
| Prime (adds more identity protection features) | $29.99 | $9.49 | $7.49 |
All plans protect up to 10 devices and include the 30-day guarantee. The difference is in the extras: Basic is the VPN alone, Complete adds the next-gen antivirus, ad and tracker blocking, email protection and a password manager, and Prime goes further on identity protection.
NordVPN’s antivirus: which plans include it?
On the pricing page of October 18, 2026, NordVPN’s antivirus (called “next-gen antivirus”, formerly Threat Protection Pro) is included from the Complete plan up and is not sold on its own on that page. An older presentation page still shows “from 4.39 euros a month” with the note “available with some plans”: trust the plan and the order summary, not that isolated figure. According to NordVPN it scans downloaded files for malware and blocks fraudulent sites, trackers and intrusive ads. It is not a VPN and it does not replace caution: it comes on top of good habits (updates, unique passwords). For details, see the antivirus on nordvpn.com (partner link, see the affiliate note).

Why your prices may differ from this screenshot
NordVPN adapts the page to your country. Seen from a French connection, the same page shows euros, and the third plan is called “Ultimate Max” at 8.49 euros a month, against “Prime” at $7.49 on the US page. The Basic (3.49) and Complete (4.49) amounts are the same figures in both currencies, which does not mean they will stay that way. Always look at the page from your own browser.
What the percentages mean
The “69% off” or “75% off” figures do not compare two market prices. A note on NordVPN’s page says “Savings: intro vs. renewal prices”. In other words, the percentage compares your price for the first months with the price of the following year. It is a legitimate way to present an offer, but it explains why every VPN promotion shows spectacular numbers.
Renewal: the number coupon pages forget
The launch price does not last. On the US page of October 18, 2026, NordVPN shows an annual renewal price for each 2-year plan:
| Plan | Promo price (first 27 months) | Renewal shown | Monthly equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $94.23 | $139.08 a year | about $11.59 |
| Complete | $121.23 | $219.48 a year | about $18.29 |
| Prime | $202.23 | $296.28 a year | about $24.69 |
The arithmetic is ours, from the displayed amounts: for Basic, $139.08 divided by 12 months gives about $11.59, more than three times the $3.49 launch price. If you kept Basic past the promotional period without changing anything and prices stayed as they are today, 27 months at $94.23 followed by 12 months at $139.08 would come to $233.31 over 39 months, about $5.98 a month on average. That is not a disaster, but it is not $3.49.
Two practical conclusions:
- Put your end-of-term date in your calendar and decide then: renew, switch provider or catch a new promotion.
- Turn off auto-renewal if you are not sure you will keep the service. NordVPN has a dedicated procedure for this in its help center.
One guarantee rule to know: it covers the first purchase only, not renewals (details below).
Influencer codes, student discounts, referrals: what really exists
Influencer codes
Many searches target the “NordVPN YouTuber code”. NordVPN confirms they exist in a blog article dated April 2, 2025: they are unique codes that creators give to their audience, entered at checkout through the “Do you have a discount code?” link. The article says these codes can come with extra free months or a bundled offer, and that offers and codes are subject to change.
What we cannot tell you is whether a specific creator’s code beats today’s displayed promotion. We therefore list no code: one copied from a table may be out of date or do nothing. If you want to support a creator, use their code or link, then compare the total with the pricing page.
The extra 15% discount
NordVPN’s official student and employee discount page announces an additional 15% off, valid worldwide for students, graduates, teachers, healthcare workers, first responders and military officers, with the headline “75% off in total + 3 extra months” on the 2-year plan. The coupon page says students can get a coupon through UNiDAYS by proving their status. Read the exact conditions (proof required, plan covered) on that page before you pay.
Referrals
According to its coupon page, NordVPN’s referral program gives 3 free months to the referrer and 1 to 3 free months to the friend depending on the plan. These are extra months of service, not a lower displayed price.
The Android free trial
NordVPN has no classic free trial. One exception exists: a free trial for new Android users who download the app from Google Play, run by Google Play under its own terms and unavailable in some countries (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Korea, according to NordVPN). Our guide on the NordVPN free trial explains the difference between a trial and a guarantee.
Cashback portals: what are they worth?
Cashback portals (iGraal, for example) pay back a share of your purchase once the merchant validates it. For NordVPN, they made headlines with “100% back” offers on a first subscription. What we could verify on October 18, 2026:
- The 100% cashback announcements relayed by the Dealabs community are marked as no longer active. Do not count on them.
- Current rates vary by source (we saw several different percentages on third-party pages): only the portal’s own page on the day of purchase counts.
- The conditions described by third-party guides are demanding: start from the portal’s page, activate the offer before paying, disable ad blockers that can cause tracking to be rejected, one subscription per account, and a validation that can take weeks. We could not confirm them with the portal itself: read its terms.
Cashback is an uncertain bonus, not a price. Do not choose a VPN on the basis of a refund you have not yet received.
Traps to know before you search for a code
- Long coupon pages. Several search results show derisory discounts (“1% off”) or undated codes. If a code is not confirmed by nordvpn.com, it is a rumor.
- “Free NordVPN accounts”. A shared or cracked account is not a service: stolen credentials, account closure, risk to your data.
- Keys resold on marketplaces. Under NordVPN’s refund policy, a subscription bought from a reseller (physical store, online shop, marketplace) is settled with that reseller, not with NordVPN. You lose the direct guarantee.
- App Store purchases. NordVPN states that it cannot refund a payment made through the Apple App Store: Apple decides. To keep the simplest guarantee, buy on nordvpn.com.
- The price jump at renewal, explained above.
The 30-day guarantee: how to get refunded
This is the only “code” that really matters, because it applies to every direct purchase. According to the official page “What is your refund policy?” (checked on October 18, 2026):
- The guarantee covers new subscriptions for 30 days after the first purchase. It does not apply to renewals, unless local law requires otherwise.
- To request a refund, contact support by live chat (at the bottom of the help page). You receive a link to verify your identity, then a “Refund” button appears on eligible payments.
- The status goes to “Refund processing”, the request can be handled within hours (the page mentions up to 4 hours), then moves to “Refunded”. Depending on your payment method, the money can take up to 10 business days to arrive.
- Google Play: refunds can go through NordVPN support within the guarantee terms. Apple App Store, Amazon Appstore and resellers: you must go to them.
This guarantee works like a full trial month: you test the VPN on your devices, on hotel Wi-Fi or from abroad with your own subscriptions, and you decide. Take it seriously rather than chasing a code: it protects you on service quality, which no discount does.
When to buy to pay less
VPN promotions follow a calendar: back to school, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, the holidays. NordVPN says so itself: it runs offers around events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday and anniversaries. Last year, specialist media (TechRadar, Tom’s Guide, Futura Sciences, Presse-Citron) reported Black Friday 2025 deals on 2-year plans from $2.99 (or 2.99 euros) a month with 3 extra months, and Tom’s Guide gave an end date of December 10, 2025, after Black Friday itself. For 2026, NordVPN opened its campaign on October 21 (see the dated section “Black Friday 2026” above): Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday on November 30, with an exclusive week announced from November 24 to December 1.
Our guide to VPN Black Friday 2026 explains how to read these offers without being trapped. Simple rule: if you need a VPN now, buy with the 30-day guarantee; if you can wait until November 24, compare with the announced price of the exclusive week.
Alternatives for your budget
NordVPN is not the only one with a big discount. Here are the offers we saw on official pages on October 18, 2026. Prices vary by country (we saw dollars or euros depending on the page): always compare the renewal price.

That does not change what we write: the renewal price and the guarantee matter more than the advertised percentage. What NOT to do
- Pay a “promo code” to a third-party site or enter your card details anywhere other than nordvpn.com.
- Use a shared NordVPN account or a key bought on a marketplace: no direct guarantee, risk of closure.
- Compare percentages without comparing the renewal price: a 75% discount that renews at $11.59 a month is not necessarily cheaper than a 65% discount that renews lower.
- Forget the guarantee deadline (30 days after the first purchase) or the automatic renewal.
- Assume a VPN makes something legal that is not: a VPN protects your connection, it does not change the law.
Verdict: how to pay less for NordVPN in 2026
- →Is there a code that beats the displayed price? Not to our knowledge: the codes trigger the page's promotion, and they only work from that page.
- →Which plan for the lowest price? Basic on 2 years ($3.49 a month on October 18, 2026), provided you accept $139.08 a year afterwards.
- →Student, teacher, healthcare worker or military? Check the extra 15% on the official dedicated page.
- →Not sure yet? Subscribe on nordvpn.com, test it, and use the 30-day guarantee if the service does not fit.
- →Can you wait? Look at the exclusive week announced for November 24 to December 1 (Basic 2-year plan at €2.99 a month), once confirmed on the official page.
